At Canvey Junior School, Science is taught as a separate lesson but will be linked to our Topic work where appropriate. There are 5 topics taught across each year group. Within Science lessons. children have access to knowledge organisers which are used to aid their recall and ask questions to develop children’s deeper thinking. We encourage our pupils to be curious about natural phenomenon and to be excited by the process of understanding the world around them.  Key scientific terminology is introduced each lesson and added to the working wall as appropriate. Pupils are able to carry out simple tests and experiments using equipment in the Science lab as well as gather and record data. We also have dedicated science days and a Science Week during the year.
